How to Make an Appointment

If you need advice, or feel that you need to see a member of the clinical team, you have a number of options – see below.

Please note that to maximise the number of appointments we can offer to our patients, the appointments with GPs are scheduled for 10 minutes. We kindly ask that you only discuss ONE concern in your appointment. This is for clinical safety and so that we are fair to all patients. Please prioritise what you’d like to discuss with the GP during the appointment. Patient safety is of paramount importance.

Please refrain from coming to the surgery without an appointment. We do not have appointments available for walk-ins.  We politely request that patients do not visit the surgery for the sole purpose of booking an appointment.

e-Consult

The quickest way to get an appointment is to use the eConsult on the home page. The information you provide will help us to deal with your request in the appropriate manner. No prior registration is required to use this service. Each e-Consult is triaged by a clinician. If there is a clinical need then we will contact you.

eConsult also offers NHS self-help information, signposts to services and is a symptom checker.

Online

Certain appointments can be booked via Patient Access or Accrux Self-book when you receive an invitation link.

By Phone

If you are unable to do an e-Consult, you can contact us by phone and the receptionist will do an e-Consult Lite for you. Please be advised that our telephone lines are extremely busy.

You can also call NHS 111 for advice or see 111.nhs.uk

Cancelling Your Appointment

Please ensure that you arrive on time for appointment. If you can no longer make your appointment, it is important you let the practice know so that the appointment can be offered to another patient. A lot of money is wasted in the NHS every year by patients who do not attend a booked appointment.

If you receive an appointment reminder via text message, you can text back CANCEL which will immediately cancel the appointment. Alternatively, you can call us to cancel.

Home Visits

Home visits are only for patients who are housebound or too ill to attend the surgery. It is better for you to be seen at the surgery where there are better diagnostic tools and better facilities to properly assess you.

Interpreting and Translation Support

We offer a professional translating service for patients whose first language is not English. We can also provide a BSL (British Sign Language) interpreter for patients with hearing difficulties. Please ensure that you highlight that you require this support on your eConsult/advise Reception so it can be arranged for your appointment.
